Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on June 2.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, May 24-31, 2020;

May 28, 2020

Metropolis Officers were called to the Dollar General on E. 8th Street for a theft. Upon arrival, Officers were advised that the anti-theft alarm activated when Martha E. Pulley,37, Metropolis exited the store. The manager found that Pulley had items in her purse that she did not pay for. Pulley was arrested for retail theft. She was taken to the Metropolis Police dept. for processing and released on bond.

Sonja L Sledd, 37, Metropolis was arrested in the 1000 block of E. 5th St. Sledd was wanted on warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County for failure to resister-sex offender, theft and criminal trespass to property. Sledd was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

May 29, 2020

Metropolis Police received an anonymous call that Tori KN Farris, 24, Golconda was at the Huck’s on W. 10th St. Officers were aware that she was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Pope County, IL for aggravated possession of a stolen firearm. Farris was located and taken into custody without incident. Farris was lodged on the warrant in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Sergeant observed a purple Honda Accord traveling E/B on E. 5th. The Sergeant recognized the driver as Timothy C. Johnson,50, Metropolis. The Sergeant was aware that Johnson had a suspended drivers license. A computer check confirmed the suspension. A traffic stop was made on E.5th and Main St. Johnson was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Dept for processing. Johnson was released on bond.

May 30, 2020

Jeffery W. Messemore,46, Metropolis was arrested in the 800 block of E. 5th St. Messemore was wanted on warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County for failure to appear and a petition to revoke probation. Messemore was lodged at the Massac County Detention Center.

May 31, 2020

A Metropolis Sergeant observed a subject drive northbound on Coburn from the Speedy Mart. The Sergeant recognized the driver as Ronald Leon Greer,31, Metropolis who he knew to have a suspended driver’s license. A compute check confirmed the suspended status. A traffic stop was conducted on Sanders Circle. Greer could not provide valid proof of insurance. Greer was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Department for processing. He was charged with driving while license suspended and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. Greer was released on bond.

Scott A Anderson,54, Metropolis was arrested at a residence on White Oak Lane. Anderson was wanted on warrants issued by Massac County. The warrants were for criminal damage to property and battery. Anderson was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
