May 10, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1900 block of Ferry. Upon arrival, the victim stated that he did not know the subject. The subject, Daryl W. Kommer,38 Metropolis was beating on his door and wanting to fight. Kommer was intoxicated and refused to leave. Kommer was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and taken to the Metropolis Police Dept. for processing. Kommer was then released on bond.
May 18, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a disturbance in the parking lot of Walgreens. Upon arrival, Metropolis Officers met with the caller. He stated that his estranged wife was in his rental vehicle and would not give him the keys. A computer check revealed that Cassandra D Quimbly,36, unknown address, was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for possession of drug paraphernalia. Quimbly was arrested and a search of her purse revealed numerous controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Quimbly was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of Methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with the intent to deliver. Quimbly was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Trenton L. Morrison, 24, Metropolis was arrested in a residence at the Spence Apartments. Morrison was wanted on 2 warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County for Theft and Forgery. Morrison was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
May 20, 2020
A Metropolis Officer observed a subject he recognized as Eric C. Rushing,26, Belknap. IL. The officer was aware that rushing was wanted on 3 warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County for Agg Assault, Criminal Damage to property and Criminal Trespass to property. As the officer was turning around, rushing started to leave on his bicycle. The officer, as well a Massac County Deputies caught up to him and rushing refused to stop. Rushing eventually stopped in the 1500 block of Catherine St. As he was approached, Rushing tried to flee on foot but was caught. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody. Rushing was arrested on the warrants as well as being charged with resisting Arrest. Rushing was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of W. 9th St. The investigation led to the arrest of Kenneth L. Mitchell,39, Metropolis. Mitchell was arrested for Violation of an order of protection. Mitchell was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
May 21, 2020
As the result on an ongoing criminal investigation, Metropolis Detectives arrested Robert S. Hart, 44, Metropolis at a residence in the Spence Apartments. Warrants were issued by Massac County. Hart was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, Aggravated criminal sexual abuse and predator criminal sexual assault of a child. Hart was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Metropolis Officers investigated a domestic violence incident at the Domestic Violence Shelter. The victim had numerous injuries and had been held against her will at a residence in Metropolis. The investigation led to the arrest of Frank P. Burrus, 38, Metropolis. Burris was charged with unlawful restraint, aggravated domestic battery, violation of an order of protection. Burris was found to be in possession o stolen handgun. He was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm. Burris was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
May 23, 2020
Metropolis Officer were called to a disturbance in the alley by Metropolis Drugs on E. 5th St. Upon arrival, Officers located James R. Beasley,54, Metropolis. He advised that he was approached and asked for a cigarette but there was no disturbance. The Sergeant was aware that Beasley was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Domestic Battery. Beasley was taken into custody. A search revealed that he was in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Beasley was also charged with the possession of Meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Beasley was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
