SOUTHERN SEVEN HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Southern Seven Health Department reports 6 new recovered case of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region

Southern Seven Health Department issued the following announcement on May 22.

Southern Seven Health Department reports 6 new recovered case of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region. One individual is from Pulaski County. The remaining five are from Union County. Currently, there are 78 individuals from the Southern Seven region who have recovered since the start of the pandemic in the United States.

Southern Seven confirms 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region. The individuals are being isolated. The newly confirmed cases by gender and age are as follows:

• Massac County: One female 30’s

• Union County: One female 60’s, one male 60’s, two females 70’s, four females 80’s, one male 80’s, two females 90’s, one male 90’s

Southern Seven Health Department will report on the number of confirmed positive cases as more cases appear. Currently, S7HD is reporting a cumulative total of 199 cases and 4 deaths since the start of the pandemic. The number of individuals confirmed, to date, within the Southern Seven Counties are as follows:

• Alexander: 8 cases, 7 recovered, 1 active, 0 deaths

• Hardin: 1 case, 1 recovered, 0 active, 0 deaths

• Johnson: 7 cases, 4 recovered, 3 active, 0 deaths

• Massac: 7 cases, 6 recovered, 1 active, 0 deaths

• Pope: 1 case, 1 recovered, 0 active, 0 deaths

• Pulaski: 40 cases, 22 recovered, 18 active, 0 deaths

• Union: 135 cases, 37 recovered, 98 active, 4 deaths

Southern Seven Health Department will not release specific information about individuals with COVID-19 beyond their sex and age range, unless ordered by the court.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Illinois has risen dramatically in the past week. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), in Illinois there were 2,758 new individuals with COVID-19 identified on May 22 bringing the confirmed total in the State to 105,444 individuals, with 4,715 deaths.

All data are provisional and will change. In order to rapidly report COVID-19 information to the public, data are being reported in real-time. Information is constantly being entered into an electronic system and the number of cases and deaths can change as additional information is gathered.
