Rural Health provided free COVID-19 antibody testing

COVID-19 antibody testing with no out-of-pocket expense has become available in Union, Johnson and Massac counties.

The antibody testing is part of an expansion effort as more tests become available to the community. Rural Health is providing the test for anyone seeking to find out their health status. Those who display coronavirus symptoms will be placed on a priority list.

Locations for testing include Anna, Dongola, Vienna, Metropolis and Goreville, the Gazette-Democrat reported.

Antibody testing will take place from a patient’s vehicle the results available within 15 minutes. Health information will been to be provided to Rural Health prior to the test that includes immunities and infections past and present. 

Those who wish to take a test should coordinate with Rural Health’s nursing staff leading to their arrival on site. It added confirmatory testing and a tele-visit with a provider from Rural Health may be necessary. For information regarding an appointment, call 618-833-4471.

Insured patients will have their company billed. Those without insurance will have the balance absorbed by Rural Health, the Gazette-Democrat reported.
