Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 62906 convicted of drug crimes

There were two offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole near Illinois zip code 62906 during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that a man and woman were released in 62906. Of these parolees, one is a veteran. The younger parolee was a 41-year-old woman sentenced in 2017. The other was a 50-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Rosa M. Parks. She was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when she was 39 years old. She is now 41.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 zips in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in the first quarter who were convicted of drug crimes.
