SOUTHERN SEVEN HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) confirms new case of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region

Southern Seven Health Department issued the following announcement on April 21.

Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) confirms new case of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region. The individual is a male in his 30’s from Pulaski County and is being isolated.

Southern Seven Health Department will report on the number of confirmed positive cases as more cases appear.

Currently, S7HD is reporting a total of 23 cases and no deaths. The number of individuals confirmed, to date, with COVID-19 within the Southern Seven Counties:

Alexander County: 2

Johnson County: 2

Hardin County: 1

Massac County: 3 (2 of the 3 have recovered in Massac County)

Pulaski County: 10 (2 of the 10 have recovered in Pulaski County)

Union: 5

Southern Seven Health Department will not release specific information about individuals with COVID-19 beyond their sex and age range, unless ordered by the court.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Illinois has risen dramatically in the past week. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), in Illinois there were 1,551 new individuals with COVID-19 identified on April 21 bringing the confirmed total in the State to 33,059 individuals, with 1,468 deaths.
