MASSAC COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE: Massac's Most Wanted Captured

Massac County Sheriff Office issued the following announcement on April 9.

On 04/08/20 Massac County Sheriff's Deputies went to an address in the 5200 block of Marion Rd. Deputies have been searching for Jeremy J. Stevens. Stevens was wanted on numerous warrants issued by the Massac County States Attorney. When Deputies arrived at the address, Stevens fled on foot into a wooded area. Deputies pursued Stevens through the wooded area for several minutes. A Deputy was able to catch Stevens. Stevens was combative with the Deputy and attempted to punch the Deputy. The Deputy was able to defend himself and physically took Stevens to the ground. Stevens continued to struggle with the Deputy. Another Deputy arrived and used a taser on Stevens. Stevens was then restrained and transported to a local hospital for treatment. A stolen firearm was located nearby. Additional charges are pending.
