Ana-Illinois issued the following announcement on April 2.
Meet Nikki Lewis, our newest participant in the #IAMANA-ILLINOIS Campaign! Nikki shared the following about herself:
"I started my nursing career twenty-five years ago. I worked long-term care, acute care, within the government, and clinical setting. I practiced in every level of nursing before completing my terminal degree. I am a veteran of the United States Army and started in health care as a combat medic. After five years of service I was honorably discharge. I then pursued my nursing career. I obtained my nursing assistant certificate and then my practical nursing certificate, ultimately completing my associate degree in nursing before pursuing my BSN, MSN, and DNP. I completed my bachelors, master, and doctorate degree in five years. I enjoy practicing as a nurse practitioner.
I joined ANA Illinois because ANA is the voice for nursing by Advocating practice and policy change. Sharing the same goals by improving nursing and patient outcomes with education and policies. I am honored to represent nursing as an ANA Illinois board member. "
