MASSAC COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE: Burglaries Being Investigated by Sheriff's Office

Massac County Sheriff Office issued the following announcement on March 3.

The Massac County Sheriff's Office recently began investigating two separate burglaries.

On 02/29/20 a report of a Burglary was taken on Mt. Pleasant Rd. It was reported that numerous items were taken from farm property. Some of the items reported missing were generators, pressure washers, a welder, numerous hand tools and a Cub Cadet mower. Also reported missing was a Chevrolet truck. The next day, 03/01/20, The reporting party of the burglary went back to check the property and located 3 individuals on the property in the stolen Chevrolet truck. The three individuals were described as white males. The three white males tried to escape in the stolen truck but got it stuck on the property. The three individuals fled the area on foot. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the three individuals.Deputies recovered evidence that is being examined in an attempt to determine who the three individuals are.

Deputies also took a report of a Burglary on 02/24/20 at an address on Deer Run Rd. near US HWY 45. Deputies were called to the residence when a door was discovered open on the residence when the property owners were not home. It was reported that two flat screen televisions, a computer monitor, a tv wall mount and assorted state park coins were taken from the residence.
