New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board met Jan. 9.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of January 09, 2020, to order at 6:00PM.
Present were: Hoffard, Craig, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, and Treat.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander
Motion by Craig seconded by Widowski to approve the minutes of the 12-12-19 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Widowski to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 12-12-19 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Treat to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $13,470., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility; Jan-Feb Calendar;
Motion by Mize seconded by Widowski to approve the Beta Club Convention Trip for March 3&4, 2020, carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Treat to approve the 2019-20 Seniority list, carried.
Motion for a public forum to be scheduled to gather input and answer questions from the community, tabled.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to approve the maintenance grant as presented, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to authorize Superintendent to seek bids for diesel fuel, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Treat for consideration and action on a resolution of intent to issue $300,000 working cash bonds to increase the districts working cash fund, carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Treat to convene to closed session at 8:10PM to discuss:
•Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06. 5 ILCS 120/2c (14)
•Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Treat to resume open session at 8:15PM, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Treat to leave the closed minutes dated 12-10-82, 1-14-83, 2-17-83, 10-8-85, and 10-07-04 closed to the public, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to adjourn, carried.
