Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.

February 3, 2020
A Metropolis Officer observed Jimmy D. Griffin,24, Metropolis walking in the 500 block of W. 11th St. The officer was aware that Griffin was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Failure to appear. Griffin was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Antone D. Pointer, 39, Metropolis was arrested on a warrant, at the Metropolis Police Dept. The warrant was issued by Scott County IN for probation violation. Pointer was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
A Metropolis Sergeant stopped a white Ford Pick-up truck on US 45 near I-24. The Ford had an expired registration Sticker of November 2019. The driver, Kevin D. Cremeens, 52, Vienna had a suspended driver’s license. Cremeens could not provide proof of insurance. Cremeens was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, expired registration sticker and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Jeriann E. Youman, 43, Metropolis was arrested for Forgery. Youman attempted to pass an obvious phony bill to the clerk at the Citgo. Youman was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis Police were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block of Market. Upon speaking with the victim, Officers learned that he was beat up by his live-in boyfriend, Cheston Lee Sledd,32. Sledd had left prior to the arrival of MPD. The victim had obvious signs of injury and stated he was punched, kicked and bit by Sledd. Sledd was located a few minutes later at the Sonic Drive-Inn. Sledd had the victim’s blood on his clothing. Sledd was taken to the Massac Memorial Hospital to be medically cleared as he appeared to be under the influence. Sledd was arrested for Domestic Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
February 4, 2020
Gregory L Corzine,60, Metropolis was arrested at Ferry and W. 10th St. Corzine was wanted on Massac County warrants. The warrants were for possession of Methamphetamine and possession of more than 100cgrams of Cannabis. Corzine was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
February 5, 2020
A Metropolis Sergeant conducted an investigation of a violation of an order of protection and identity theft. The victim had contacted the police dept to open the investigation. This led to the arrest of Lisa A. Massey,52, Metropolis. Massey was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis Officers were handling a crash with injuries in the intersection of US 45 and Devers. A Metropolis Sergeant was advised that a subject entered the crash scene, removed a cooler from one of the vehicles and was now leaving the scene. The sergeant spoke with the driver, Angel L Guajardo,41, Marion, IL who stated that he was called by the girlfriend of one of the drivers, to pick up the cooler containing groceries. A computer check revealed that Guajardo had a revoked drivers’ license. Guajardo was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
February 6, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to Harrah’s Casino. They met with security who advised that Jerry Lee Jr, 36, Paducah, KY had been previously trespassed from the property and had now returned. Officers and security located Lee at a gaming table. Lee was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property. A computer check revealed that Lee was wanted by Alexander County, IL on a warrant. The warrant was for failure to appear. Lee was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
February 7, 2020
A Metropolis Sergeant stopped a blue Dodge on w. 12th near Market St. The vehicle had an expired registration sticker and a computer check revealed that the registration was cancelled. A computer check on the driver, Timothy R Puckett,34, Metropolis revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. Puckett was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Dept for processing. Puckett was able to post bond and was released.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
