Union County Board of Commissioners met Nov. 8.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
I. Roll Call
Commissioners in attendance are Kent Pitts, Bobby Toler Jr., Dale Foster, Max Miller and David Gould.
II. Call Meeting to Order
The Union County Board of Commissioners met for a regular meeting in the Union County Courthouse Community Room at 08:30am. County Chairman Max Miller called the meeting to order.
III. Approval of Minutes
Regular Meeting Minutes - 10/25/19
Mr. Gould made the motion to approve the regular meeting minutes from 10/25/19 and Mr. Pitts seconded the motion.

IV. Public Comments

V. Committee Reports
Mr. Toler reported that the Shawnee Development has been donated a building in Karnack by LP Building Solutions for a new food pantry with air conditioning and heat.
Mr. Toler also reported that the 911 board had a meeting and approved the full budget for 2020 and is the first full budget since the merger with Alexander County. Mr. Toler gave thanks to Grant Capel, Crystal Gurley and Steve Hartline for the work on the budget.

VII. Old Business
A. Image Trend Software Contract - Ambulance Service
Mr. Miller tabled the contract because it was still under review and Mr. Capel stated that there were some more meetings needing to take place before it is ready to sign.
B. Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Discussions
Angie Johnson, County Administrator, gave and update and stated that the county has met with The City of Anna to go over the contract for dispatching. The 911 board has agreed to give an additional $20,000.00 to the county for dispatching. She also met with Mr. Caple at the Ambulance Service and has their budget lined out for the year and was a challenge with the new minimum wage increase. The Highway Department is under review at the current time with their budget. She also stated that the budget is moving right along and looks to be on schedule.

A. Approve Payment of Bills
Mr. Pitts made the motion to approve the payment of the bills and Mr. Toler seconded the motion.

B. Shawnee Development/Food Pantry Request - $1500
Mr. Miller made the motion to approve the payment request of $1500.00 be given to Shawnee Development Food Pantry and Mr. Gould seconded the motion.

C. Approval of Tourism Grant Application -- Bald Knob Cross Fiscal Year 2020 The HOOT Board met and recommended that Bald Knob Cross be awarded $5000.00 towards their tourism budget. Mr. Gould made the motion to award the $5000.00 towards Bald Knob Cross and Mr. Pitts seconded the motion.

D. Resolution Amending Union County Governmental Holidays for the 2019 Calendar Year
Mr. Miller stated that they would be adding Christmas Eve to the holiday list. Mr. Miller made the motion to approve the resolution and Mr. Toler seconded the motion,

E. Resolution To Include Compensation Directed into a Retirement Health Savings Plan as IMRF Earnings
Mr. Miller explained that a Health Savings Account has been added to the insurance options for employees this year and just like the other plans this would be shown as earnings to IMRF for the employees that choose this new plan. Mr. Miller made the motion to approve the resolution and Mr. Pitts seconded the motion.
