Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 14.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, January 5-11, 2020;

Busy week but not a bunch of arrests.

January 5, 2020

Metropolis Officers were called to Harrah’s for an intoxicated and disorderly female. Upon arrival, Officers met with Security and IGB agents. Officers were informed that Jennifer Lynn Burg,33, Hickman, TN was trespassed from the property. Burg advised that she had been in an argument with her boyfriend and did not want to stay at the Baymont with him. Video surveillance found her wandering in restricted areas. She was told to wait for her ride in the hotel lobby. Burg then was found in a Harrah’s truck and had locked the doors and laid down on the floor. Burg was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. She was lodged at the Massac County Detention Center pending bond.

January 8, 2020

A Metropolis Officer stopped a beige KIA on Metropolis St and E.12th. the vehicle did not have valid registration. A computer check on the driver, David M. Mitchell Jr., 50, Paducah, KY revealed that he had a suspended driver’s license. Mitchell was arrested and charged with no valid registration and driving while license suspended. Mitchell was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
