Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the Vienna Public School District No. 55 Board of Education was called to order by Mrs. Sherie Smith, President, at 6:00 p.m., with the following members present:

S. Smith, President

S. Borders, Vice President

K. Johnson, Secretary

P. Trovillion

L. Hook

T. Betts

Members absent: D. Clayton.

Others present: G. Frehner, Michael Baysinger, Kyle Loyd, C. Francis P. Allbritten, S. Robinson.

Consent Agenda

Motion by Trovillion seconded by Borders to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Recognition of Employees and Public

Mrs. Francis commented on the Art field trip to St. Louis. Michael Baysinger answered questions on the maintenance and construction grants.

Closed Session

Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to go in to closed session at 8:53 p.m. to discuss (1) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of employees of the District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel of the District, to determine its validity. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to come out of closed session and return to regular open session at 9:46 p.m. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Approve Beta Club Overnight Trips

Motion by Hook seconded by Borders to authorize the Beta Club to attend overnight trips to the 2019 state and national conventions. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Smith, Betts, Johnson Motion carried.

VGS/City Police Memorandum of Understanding

Motion by Borders seconded by Betts to approve the Vienna Grade School and City of Vienna Police Department General Law Enforcement memorandum of understanding as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson, Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Agreement Baysinger Motion by Hook seconded by Borders to Architects

Approve an agreement with Baysinger Architects to begin and complete a master planning project for Vienna Public School Building and Facility Improvement during the 2019-20 school year. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Employment

Motion by Hook seconded by Borders to employ Sonny Bagby as an as-needed individual aide for the 2019-20 school year. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Other

November 15 is Illinois School Board Member Day. Vienna Grade School commends its Board members for their dedication and excellence in service to our students, staff, and the school district.

Adjourn

Motion by Borders seconded by Betts to adjourn at 9:56 p.m. All voted yea. Motion carried.
