UNION COUNTY STATE'S ATTORNEY: Jury Finds Carterville Man Guilty of Possession of Methamphetamine

Union County State's Attorney issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.

Union County State’s Attorney Daniel Klingemann announced today that Aaron Lee Isaacson (DOB 08/24/1982) of Carterville, Illinois was found guilty yesterday, December 10, 2019, by a Union County Jury on one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony and one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor. Isaacson was arrested in March 2018 by Union County Sheriff’s Deputies and Conservation Officers of the Department of Natural Resources following a traffic crash report in which he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The Class 3 Felony carries a maximum penalty of five (5) years in prison. The case was prosecuted by Union County Assistant State’s Attorney, Lisa C. Casper.

A sentencing hearing has been set for January 30, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro. Isaacson remains in custody at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro.
