MASSAC COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE: Two Arrested on Meth Charges Following Traffic Stop

Massac County Sheriff Office issued the following announcement on Dec. 9.

On December 7, 2019 at around 4:00 A.M. a Massac County Sheriff's Deputy stopped a vehicle in the 1900 block of Ferry St. in Metropolis. The driver of the vehicle, 35 year old Xavier Smith of Paducah, had an active Massac County Warrant and a Suspended driver's license. Xavier Smith was taken into custody. The passenger in the vehicle, 50 year old Jena Martin of Metropolis, was found to be in possession of a Meth smoking devise. During a search of the vehicle, over 18 grams of Meth was found along with a digital scale and over $400 believed to be funds from the sale of Meth. Both Smith and Martin were arrested without incident and lodged at the Massac County Detention Center.
