Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 7.
There is a scam using the Virginia State Police and their concealed carry licenses. Illinois does not honor ANY other states concealed carry permit. (Don't kill the messenger). This fake site charges $160.00 for a non-resident concealed carry permit. This is bogus. If looking for an out of state concealed carry permit which covers multiple states (excluding IL) contact the interested state firearms section direcdtly and do not use a third party company. VA State Police are aware of this scam. ~ Chief Masse
