Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 19.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary,November 11-17, 2019;

Busy week, with a lot of calls. Not many arrests.

November 11, 2019

Metropolis Officers were called to a residence in the 500 block of Yasoda. The caller stated that he observed Darrell A McCoy, 56, Metropolis on his property. McCoy had been previously trespassed from the property by both the owner and the Metropolis Police Dept. McCoy was located and arrested for Criminal Trespass to property. McCoy was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

November 12, 2019

A Metropolis Sergeant stopped a silver dodge pick-up on the ramp from US 45 to I-24. The driver, Joshua R Goines,38, Grand Chain, IL had a revoked driver’s license. Goines was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Dept. for processing. He was released on bond.

November 14, 2019

A Metropolis Officer stopped a blue Subaru SUV for a defective taillight on US 45 & Faughn Lane. A computer check on the driver, James L. Knott,66, Metropolis revealed that he had a revoked drivers license.

Knott could not provide proof of insurance. Knott was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. Knott was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
