Century Community Unit School District 100 Board of Education met Sept. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

I. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, Century Community Unit School District #100, Johnson-Alexander-Massac-Pulaski Counties, held Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office, Century CUSD #100, Ullin, IL.

Meeting called to order by Board President Wes Anderson at 6:00 pm.

II. Adoption of Agenda

Motion to adopt the Agenda

Motion by: HIGHT Seconded by: DeWITT

III. Recognition of Guests and Visitors/Public Comment

IV. Closed Session TIME 6:02 p.m.

A. Motion to conduct a closed session for the purpose of the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) B. Student disciplinary cases. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9).

C. Motion to employ Sarah Burnett as a paraprofessional retroactive to August 13, 2019

D. Motion to approve Gina Rose as assistant cheerleading coach for Junior High and High School for the 2019-2020 school year.

E. Motion to approve Rachel Womack as Freshman class sponsor for the 2019-2020 school year.

F. Motion to approve Kara Hight as assistant Basketball coach for elementary and junior high girls for the 2019-2020 school year.

G. Motion to approve the handbook amendment as presented.

H. Motion to approve the updated extra duty stipends as presented

I. Motion to accept the door hardware alternate bid from Galloway Construction

Motion to approve the proposal submitted by Creative Data Systems for the access control work on the exterior doors.

A. Motion to approve the FFA’s request to attend National Convention in Indianapolis, IN.

• New laws require a threat assessment team meeting

• New laws for special education procedures

• Transportation – Small bus anti-lock brake repair

• Building Updates – Priorities and future needs discussed

• Food Service – Nutrition manager resigned from OPAA!

• OPAA! will replace director and new cook

• Bell system not working; new system will go through the intercom

IX. Future Business

A. The next regular Board meeting will be held October 21, 2019.
