Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, October 20-26, 2019;

October 20, 2019

Metropolis Police arrested Brandon L. Meyers, 36, Homeless, in a shed in the 1400 block of Girard. Meyers was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Resisting Arrest. Meyers was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 22, 2019

A Metropolis Officer observed Karen A Fisher,51, Metropolis at the Massac County Jr. High School. The off-duty officer was there that night for a “Meet the Trojan’s event”. The officer was aware that she is a registered sex offender and is prohibited from being on school property except under specific conditions. The principal confirmed that she did not give Fisher permission to be there. Fisher was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 23, 2019

Metropolis Officers were called to Huck’s for a theft. Officers were given a description of two subjects that stole some items and had left. The officers began searching the area and one of the subjects was located in the 200 block of W. 10th. A search revealed the stolen items as well as a pouch containing Meth and drug paraphernalia. Bobby W. Brisentine, 18, Metropolis was identified by the clerk as one of the thieves. The incident was also captured on video surveillance. Brisentine was charged with Retail Theft, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 24, 2019

Jordan r. Craig,20, New Burnside, IL was arrested Huck’s. Craig was wanted on warrants. The first warrant was issued by Johnson County, IL for Aggravated Fleeing to elude police. The second warrant was issued by Williamson County, IL for DUI. Craig was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 25, 2019

A Metropolis Officer stopped a white Jeep on US 45 & Massac Creek Bridge for an expired registration Sticker. The Metropolis K9 performed a free air sniff around the vehicle and the dog alerted to the presence of drugs. A search revealed a clear plastic baggie near the driver’s wallet in the console. The contents of the baggie were field tested and came back positive for Meth. Benjamin J.Comer,26, Metropolis was arrested and charged with possession of Methamphetamine. He was also issued a citation for expired registration. Comer was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 26, 2019

At 11:28 pm, A Metropolis Officer stopped a grey Chevrolet pick-up truck for failure to signal as required. The vehicle pulled into the Motel 6 and stopped. A computer check o the driver, Ronald N. White,45, Metropolis revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. White could not provide proof of insurance. A search of the vehicle revealed contraband. White was charged with possession of a controlled substance (Loritab), possession of Methamphetamine, driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of open alcohol and failure to signal as required. White was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
