MASSAC COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE: The Massac County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the National Take Back Day

Massac County Sheriff Office issued the following announcement on Oct. 23.

Saturday October 26, 2019 the Massac County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the National Take Back Day. Between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM anyone can drop off their unused prescription drugs. All over-the-counter and prescription drugs will be accepted. Syringes can be dropped off as well. The Massac County Sheriff's Office participates in the National Drug Take Back Day twice a year. As always though, unused prescription drugs and syringes can be disposed of 24 hours a day 7 days a week at the Massac County Sheriff's Office.The purpose of the program is the proper disposal of prescription drugs and syringes.The P2D2 program was developed as a way to keep unused prescription drugs out of the water supply. The Points Drop Program was developed as a way to keep needles out of the trash and off our streets and playgrounds.If you have any questions about dropping off unused prescription drugs or syringes, contact the Massac County Sheriff's Office at (618)524-2912.
