Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.

From the office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, October 13-19, 2019;

October 15, 2019

A Metropolis Sergeant observed a white Nissan pick up truck on Catherine St. He recognized the driver as Cale A. Lewis,36, Metropolis. The Sergeant was aware that Lewis had a suspended driver’s license. Lewis was arrested. A search of the vehicle found some shotgun shells. Lewis does not have a FOID. Lewis was charged with Driving while suspended and no FOID. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Officer stopped a silver Volkswagen Van bearing Iraq War Veteran plates. The plates did not belong on that vehicle as they were registered to another vehicle. A computer check on the driver, Robert A Levkovsky,32, House Springs, MO revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. Levkovsky was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and improper use of registration. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Officer stopped a vehicle driven by Amy L. Walker, 38, Joppa on Superman Square. The officer was aware that Walker had a suspended driver’s license. Walker was arrested and taken into the Massac County Detention Center.

October 19, 2019

Metropolis Officers were called to a residence in the 200 block of Scott St. The caller stated that there were people at the residence that did not belong there. Investigation revealed that the Michael B Monkman,34, Metropolis had permission to be on the porch but not inside the residence. Officers could tell that Monkman was under the influence of something. The officer observed a black bandana containing a glass smoking pipe with drug residue. Monkman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
