Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 16.
During our Annual Trunk or Treat Event which will be held this year on Saturday, October 26, 2019, I am pleased to announce that we will have a "get out of jail" event. The money raised by this endeavor will go to Jamie and her two children. She is the wife of Captain Chad Parker of the Metropolis Fire Dept who unexpectidly died last week. The "Jail" will be set up in the Metropolis Police Trailer and the Massac County Sheriff's Office will be there to issue "warrants" for a dollar to also benefit the family.
