New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board met August 08. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of August 08, 2019, to order at 6:00PM.

Present were: Hoffard, Craig, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, and Treat.

Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Mrs. Armstrong

Motion by Craig seconded by Treat to approve the minutes of the 07-11-2019 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Craig seconded by Treat to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 07-11-2019 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Widowski to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $34,659., unanimous.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Tentative Enrollment Report, Calendar, Feasibility Study, Residency Update, Baseball/Softball Schedules, Jr. High Class Schedule

Motion by Craig seconded by Hill to approve the FY20 JAMP Tentative Budget as presented, approved.

Motion by Mize seconded by Widowski to approve the New Simpson Hill Tentative Budget as presented, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Treat to approve the destruction of audio recordings of closed session minutes older than 18 months, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to convene to closed session at 7:47 PM to discuss:

      • The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2 c (1)carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to resume to open session at 8:03PM, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Craig to employ Ashley Volkert as the Pre-K teacher for the 2019-20 school year, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Treat to employ Heather Dailey as a 1st grade teacher for the 2019-20 school year, carried.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to employ Mike Waters as assistant baseball coach for the 2019-20 school year, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Craig to adjourn, carried.
