Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
The Metropolis Police Department is advising everybody that a mock DUI fatal accident involving high school students is planned for Friday morning, September 20, 2019.
Participating agencies will include the Metropolis Police, Fire, Emergency Management Agencies. Also participating will be Massac County Sheriff’s Office, Massac County Office of Emergency Management, Massac County Fire Department, Massac County EMS, Massac County Office of the Coroner, Aire Evac, Brookport fire Department and the Massac County High School. The vehicles were donated by C&W Towing, Metropolis.
As the Director of Public Safety, I am pleased to announce this drill which will occur one week prior to the Massac County High School Homecoming. The goal of this drill, at this time, will hopefully drive home the dangers of drinking and driving, and their consequences
