Egyptian Community Unit School District 5 Board of Education met Aug. 26.

The roll call was as follows:

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by David Thompson to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Vote: Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by David Thompson to approve the bills and payroll. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Justin Schultz, second by Terry Shafer, to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Investments. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by David Thompson, to reimburse the Imprest Fund in the amount of $175.56. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by David Thompson, second by Charlie Cox to accept the resignations of Jackie Cole, Stephanie Lingle, Rebecca Mize, Ramone Mason, and Jeff McCrite. All voted yea.

A motion was made by Charlie Cox, second by David Thompson to employ Danny McCrite as a math teacher for the 2019-2020 school year retroactive to August 16, 2019. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Jeremy Greenley, second by Terry Shafer to employ Austin Brown as a custodian. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Charlie Cox, second by David Thompson to employ Emmalea Bigham as the high school assistant softball coach for the 2019-2020 school year. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Justin Schultz to employ Skylar Pecord as an EOC hourly aide for the 2019-2020 school year retroactive to August 16, 2019. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, abstain; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Charlie Cox, second by Justin Schultz to increase the officials pay. All Junior High sports will be $55 and JV Basketball will be $50 beginning August 27, 2019. All voted yea.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by David Thompson to coop girls basketball with Cairo School.

The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Donna Ledbetter, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; David Thompson, yea. Yea votes 6, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.
