New Simpson Hill School District 32 Board met June 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of June 11, 2019, to order at 6:00PM.

Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, and Treat. Craig was absent.

Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Mrs. Armstrong

Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to approve the minutes of the 05-09-2019 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 05-09-2019 board meeting, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $40,245., unanimous.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: End of year enrollment; June/July Calendar

Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the 2019-20 parent/student handbook, approved.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Ross to approve Policy 718, carried.

Motion to continue in the IASB sponsored Workers Compensation Self Insurance Trust for FY20 and ISDA Property/Casualty for FY20, tabled.

Motion by Treat seconded by Mize to approve the FY20 Consolidated District Plan as presented, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Treat to convene to closed session at 7:07 PM to discuss:

•The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2 c (1)

•Collective bargaining matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2 c (2) carried.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to resume to open session at 7:22PM, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to employee Mike Waters as a full time aide for the 2019-20 school year, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to approve the amended Superintendent contract as presented, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to adjourn, carried.
