MASSAC COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE: A search warrant was executed in the 2900 block of North Avenue

Massac County Sheriff Office issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

On 09/09/19 a search warrant was executed in the 2900 block of North Avenue. The search warrant was obtained following a investigation dating back to early 2019. The Massac County Sheriff's Office has been conducting the joint investigation with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, The Metropolis Police Department, Paducah Police Department, FBi and the Illinois Secretary of State Police.

Massac County Sheriff's Deputies have located numerous stolen vehicles that have been recycled locally. Deputies learned that the stolen vehicles, along with other stolen items, were being ran through the residence in the 2900 block of North Avenue.

During the search warrant on 09/09/19, Deputies recovered a stolen ATV, trailer, generators, pressure washers, power tools, vehicle parts, drug paraphernalia and Methamphetamine.

Deputies had received information that evidence was being burnt and buried in the yard at the residence. Massac County Highway Department assisted by bringing in digging equipment. Evidence related to stolen vehicles was located underground.

The investigation remains ongoing and arrests are expected as well as charges on individuals already in custody.

The Massac County Sheriff's Office was assisted during the search warrant by the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, Illinois Secretary of State Police, Massac County Highway Department and the Massac County Office of Emergency Management.
