Southern Seven Health Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.

As of August 19, 2019, TEN Illinois residents have been reported (or are under investigation) to have severe respiratory illness linked to recent vape use.
"Patients present with cough and shortness of breath. Other presenting symptoms may include fever, pleuritic chest pain, hemoptysis, headache, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Symptoms worsen over a period of days or weeks before hospital admission."
If you experience any of the above symptoms and have been vaping in the weeks to months prior to the illness seek immediate medical attention.
