Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on July 30.

From the office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest summary, July 21-27, 2019;

July 22, 2019

Clarence R. Leonard, 36, Metropolis was arrested on Oak and E. 6th Street. Leonard was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Johnson County IL for failure to appear – possession of Meth. Leonard was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

July 25, 2019

Sandra M. McDaniel,30, and Matthew McDaniel, 36, Metropolis were arrested in the 100 block of W. 8th St. they were both wanted on 3 warrants issued by Massac County. The warrants were for Theft. Sandra McDanield was transported to the Metropolis Police Dept for processing. She was able to post bond and was released. Matthew was taken to the Massac County Detention Center where he was released on bond as well.

A Metropolis Sergeant stopped a vehicle on 12th and Girard after observing the driver talking on a cell phone without a hands-free device. A compute check on the driver, Mindy Leeann Rogan, 35, Metropolis revealed that she was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for driving while suspended. Rogan was arrested on the warrant and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. She was also issued a citation for the improper use of electronic communications device.

July 26, 2019

Metropolis Officers responded to a disturbance at the Spence apartments. Upon arrival, officers learned that Randy R. Hite,32, Metropolis had punched holes in the walls and drug his girlfriend by the hair and threw her out of the apartment. Hite was arrested for domestic battery and criminal damage to state supported property. Hite was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
