Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on July 16.

July 8, 2019
Metropolis Officers took a theft report. The victim stated that her wallet was stolen while she was at the southern 7 Health Center. Officers were able to obtain video of the incident. During the course of the investigation, a subject was identified. On July 8th, A Metropolis Sergeant was able to positively identify the thief. Debra L. Kingsley,42, Brookport was tracked down and arrested for Theft. She was able to post bond and was released after being processed.
Metropolis Officers were called to the parking lot of Harrah’s Casino to assist the IL State Police/IGB Agents. Upon arrival, Officers were advised that the agents were investigating a theft complaint. A computer check on the suspects, George L Smith,32, Nashville TN and Ashley R. Mosely,34, Creal Springs, IL revealed that they were wanted on warrants. The warrants were issued by Saline County, IL for Aggravated ID theft. Both were arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. The theft investigation is ongoing and being handled by ISP/IGB.
July 9, 2019
Sean ME Hall, 19, Metropolis was arrested for Aggravated Battery. This was the result of an investigation started by the Metropolis Police Dept on July 8, 2019. The 17 year old victim advised that she was touched in an inappropriate manner near 17th and Ferry Streets. Hall was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
July 11, 2019
William E. Brewer, 58, Metropolis was arrested at a residence in the 1400 block of Girard. Brewer was charged with violation of bail bond. Brewer was arrested for Domestic Battery last week. A condition of his bond was, that he does not return to the residence. Brewer was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
July 13, 2019
Metropolis Officers were called to a disturbance in the 900 block of Ferry St. Witnesses and the victim stated that Kenneth L. Mithcell,38, Metropolis, struck the victim and threw things at her. Mitchell was arrested for Domestic Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
