2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in zip code 62985?

There was one offender released on parole during 2018 that lives in Simpson zip code 62985, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that the released offender was Abel Barrios. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017, when he was 46. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
