2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in zip code 62960?

There were 16 offenders released on parole during 2018 that live near Illinois zip code 62960, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that 15 men and one woman were released in the Metropolis zip code. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2017, and the oldest was a 48-year-old man convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was James Summers. He was convicted of a property crime in 2014, when he was 37 years old. He is now 42.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
