Shawnee CUSD 84 School District issued the following announcement on July 10.
How can I help? Many members of our community and surrounding areas have been asking how they can help the residents of our district. Residents in the McClure and East Cape area are in need of non-perishable food items, Gatorade, cleaning and hygiene supplies or monetary donations for volunteers to purchase these items for distribution. At this time, they have a sufficient number of cases of water due to the generosity of local businesses and community members. If you would like to donate, items can be dropped off to the Shawnee Superintendent's office between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. If you would like to donate, but are unavailable during these hours, please message our Facebook page and arrangements will be made for pickup.
