Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Massac County?

There were four offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Massac County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Massac County were men. The median age of the parolees was 33. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 38-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Shane R. Oliver. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016 when he was 36 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Massac County municipality.
