Q3 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Massac County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the third quarter that live in Massac County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Massac County were men. The median age of the parolees was 31. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 37-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Melvin D. Davis. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when he was 28 years old. He is now 31.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter in each Massac County municipality.
