Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Union County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Union County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that three men and two women were released in Union County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 50-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Erica L. Lewis. She was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when she was 36 years old. She is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Union County municipality.
