2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Union County?

There were 16 offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Union County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that 12 men and four women were released in Union County. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Trenton G. Cockrum. He was convicted of a property crime in 2014 when he was 23 years old. He is now 28.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in 2018 in each Union County municipality.
