2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Pope County?

There were five offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Pope County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that four men and one women were released in Pope County. Of the parolees, one was a veteran, and the median age was 34. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old woman convicted of a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Kent A. Stafford. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when he was 31 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
