2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Massac County?

There were 21 offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Massac County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows that 19 men and two women were released in Massac County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Michael Copley. He was convicted of a property crime in 2010 when he was 29 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in 2018 in each Massac County municipality.
