Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on April 1.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety; Arrest Summary, March 24-31, 2019:

March 24, 2019

Ryne Lee Collins,35, Metropolis was arrested at a residence on Crestview Drive. Collins had violated a condition of his bail/bond by being at the residence. Collins was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Matthew L Owens,26, Metropolis was arrested at a residence in the Parkview Apartments. The victim stated that Owens slammed her against the wall, slapped her and choked her. Owens was charged with Domestic Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Metropolis Officers were called to the SuperBowl for a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers observed numerous people arguing in the parking lot of the bowling alley. Investigation revealed that Bryan A. Morgan, 19, Paducah was the cause of the disturbance and video showed him knocking the victim to the ground. Morgan was arrested for Domestic Battery and Disorderly Conduct. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A concerned citizen contacted the police after observed subjects entering a home in the 900 block of Girard St. The owners live in Indiana. Upon arrival, officers located Michael A. Perry, 38, Metropolis and Carrie S. Sellers,30, Metropolis inside the residence. Both were placed under arrest. Perry was found to be in possession of Meth. and drug paraphernalia. The owner of the residence were contacted and they advised that nobody had permission to be in the house or to remove items. Perry was charged with Burglary, theft, possession of Meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sellers was charged with burglary and theft. Both were lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

March 26, 2019

Metropolis Officers were called to the Humma apartments. The caller advised that Louis A Pearcy,55, Metropolis had tore up some window screens and also broke some windows. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller who advised that Pearcy was drunk and had been kicked out of the apartment. Pearcy was attempting to get back into the apartment through a window. Pearcy was located and arrested for criminal damage to state supported property. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

March 27, 2019

Peyton C. Gallo,27, Metropolis was arrested at the Fairmont Apartments. Gallo was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for probation violation. Gallo was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

March 28, 2019

Vernetta L. Merino,55, Metropolis was arrested in the 300 block of Metropolis St. Merino was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Dangerous Drugs. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

March 29, 2019

A Metropolis Officer stopped a Beige Buick on 10th and Pearl for expired registration. A computer check on the driver, Heather Nicole Crecelius,34, Ullin, IL revealed that her driver’s license was suspended. Crecelius was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Dept. for processing. She was able to post bond and was released.

March 31, 2019

Metropolis Offices were called to the Huck’s gas station for a theft. Officers observed the video which showed a subject later identified as John N. Brisentine,22, Metropolis placing items in his pocket and not paying for them. The clerk was able to obtain a license plate on his vehicle. Officers went to his residence and Brisentine answered the door. Officers recognized him as the subject on the video. Offices explained to him why they were there. He was arrested for Retail Theft and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
