Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 19.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: arrest Summary, February 11-16, 2019;

February 12, 2019

At 12:08 m, A Metropolis Sergeant observed a red Kia stopped in the intersection of 19th, Filmore and Catherine Streets. The Sergeant observed a subject passed out behind the wheel. The engine was running and car was in gear. A Metropolis firefighter was also on the scene. Entry was made into the vehicle. The driver, Christopher H. Ringstaff,26, Paducah, KY was woken up. He appeared to be under the influence and was hard to understand. He stated he was taking a nap. When advised he was in the intersection, he became even more confused. The Sergeant observed a syringe in the door handle area that had a small amount of a liquid substance left in it. That field tested positive for Meth. A computer check revealed that Ringstaff had a suspended driver’s license. Ringstaff was arrested and charged with DYU-Drugs, driving while license suspended, and improper parking in the roadway. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 1100 block of Vienna. As a Metropolis officer was checking the area, He observed a male subject exit a gold Chevrolet and drop something. The officer informed him that he dropped something and the subject Tyler L. Bray, 23, Metropolis was belligerent and swearing. The officer looked inside the vehicle and observed some contraband. A search also revealed 3 Hydrocodone pills. Bray admitted to the pills being his. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 13, 2019

Metropolis Police were called to a domestic disturbance at the Baymont Inn. The caller also stated that she was being held against her will. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the caller. Officers observed that the room was in disarray. The victim stated that she was shoved to the ground and slapped around. The offender, Jerry D. Smith III, 28, Wolf Lake, Il was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Unlawful Restraint. Smith was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Christy L Bradbury,35, Metropolis was arrested at 12th and Coburn. Bradbury was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County to revoke conditional discharge. Bradbury was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Danny W. Bennett, 36, Metropolis was arrested at 10th and Ferry. Bennett was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for criminal damage to property. Bennett was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 14, 2019

Metropolis Officers were called to Harrah’s Hotel. An intoxicated female was yelling and causing a scene. Upon arrival, Officers attempted to calm her down. She continued to be loud and belligerent. Linda K. Glenn, 53, Shiloh, Il was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 16, 2019

Edwin J. Robison, 42, Homeless, was arrested at 10th and Market St. Robison was wanted on warrants. The warrants were issued by Warren Co, KY for wanton endangerment and criminal possession of forged instruments. Robison was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Officer ran a computer check on a Black Dodge Durango. The check showed that the registered owner, Dakota E. Richardson, 21, Metropolis had a suspended driver’s license. A traffic stop was conducted. Richardson was the driver. Richardson could not provide proof of insurance. Richardson was charged with driving while suspended and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. Richardson was taken to the Metropolis Police Dept for processing. Richardson was able to post bond and was released.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
