Massac County Unit School District #1 issued the following announcement on Feb. 6.
The Board of Education of Massac County Community Unit School District No. 1 is requesting sealed competitive bids from qualified individuals and/or organizations to provide Pupil Transportation for the Massac County Community Unit School District No. 1. The contract period will commence upon execution of the Pupil Transportation Agreement in 2019 (for services during the 2019-2020 school year) and will continue until June 30, 2022, with an option to renew for multiple one-year terms in accordance with the terms of the Pupil Transportation Agreement, the School Code and as may be agreed to by the parties.
Bid Specifications may be obtained at the District Office of Massac County Community Unit School District No. 1 during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The District office is located at 401 Metropolis Street, Metropolis, IL 62960. In the alternative, Bid Specifications may be requested by calling the District Office at (618) 524-9376, by mailing a written request for Specifications addressed to: Lisa Monkman, Superintendent Secretary, Massac County Community Unit School District No. 1, 401 Metropolis Street, P.O. Box 530, Metropolis, IL 62960, or by emailing Jason Hayes at jhayes@massac.org.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 401 Metropolis Street, P.O. Box 530, Metropolis, IL 62960. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
Sealed bids must be submitted on the Bid Forms provided, must include all information and materials requested in the Bid Specifications and additional Bid Documents, and must be received in the District office of Massac County by 11:00 a.m. on March 8, 2019, after which time they will be opened and read aloud. No bids shall be accepted after this stated time. Please mark the sealed envelope “Pupil Transportation Bid.”
The Board of Education reserves the right to accept and/or reject all bids, to waive all irregularities in bidding procedure, and to make all decisions in the best interest of the School District.
