Analysis: Century administrators rank 794th in state for average pay

Administrators in Century Community Unit School District 100 earn an average of $74,651 per year, ranking 794th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 6.4% lower than in 2014 and 7% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 30.4% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Pulaski County school district enrolled 367 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 110 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
