Report: New Simpson Hill spent $9,356 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at New Simpson Hill School District 32 is down 10.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Johnson County school district spent $10,445 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,356 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 246 to 244.

New Simpson Hill's spending in 2017-18 was 29.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
