Report: Buncombe spent $10,749 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Buncombe Consolidated School District 43 is up 18.9 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Johnson County school district spent $9,044 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,749 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 67 to 62.

Buncombe's spending in 2017-18 was 19.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
