Report: Massac County spent $10,422 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Massac County Unit School District #1 is up 15.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Massac County school district spent $9,003 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,422 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2185 to 2027.

Massac County's spending in 2017-18 was 21.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
