Report: County of Union spent $8,051 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at County of Union School District 43 is up 18 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Union County school district spent $6,823 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,051 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 435 to 457.

County of Union's spending in 2017-18 was 39.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
