Report: Vienna spent $8,104 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Vienna Elementary School District 55 is down 10.3 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Johnson County school district spent $9,039 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,104 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 449 to 423.

Vienna's spending in 2017-18 was 39.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
