Shawnee Community Unit School District 84 issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.
Congratulations to Laycee Presutti, Nicholas Rose, and Autumn McMahan for competing in the Anna VFW’s Voice of Democracy speech competition. These seniors each wrote and recorded a 3-5 minute speech about why their vote matters. Today, Mrs. Linda Jackson with the Anna VFW presented them with certificates and monetary awards. Autumn’s speech was selected as the school winner and she will find out this weekend if she advances to the next round of the competition. Congratulations and good luck!
